BCD Building
800 Harrison Avenue

Rehabilitation of this historic Boston Medical Center Building will combine 21 st century design with 19 th century character. This building was part of the original Boston City Hospital patient ward pavilion. This rehabilitation ensures that the design will reutilized the building and preserve their historic integrity.
The BCD Building will house BMC's expanding Department of Information Technology Services. Two mezzanine levels, adding 7,800 gross square feet of space, will be created between floors, creating airy and open work space for 140 ITS employees.
The rehabilitated BCD building will house the hospital's Information Technology Department by providing 25,000 net square feet.
The BCD Building , built in 1864, has been vacant for more than thirty years. A historic preservationist, design team and construction manager with extensive knowledge in renovating historic buildings have led the rehabilitation of the building. Great care has been taken in preserving the historic integrity of the building while making it operational for the hospital. One of the main design features of the project is the addition of two partial floors.
