New Telephone Service for BUMC

As part of a Boston University initiative to modernize services and reduce operating expenses, the telephones supporting BU faculty, staff and administrators on the BU Medical Campus will be converting to Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). The new telephone service will be supported by BU Charles River IS&T partnering with BU Medical Campus IT.

The telephone conversion project involves more than 3,000 devices and will take about 18 months to complete, with an anticipated end date of July 2019. In preparation, BU IS&T and BUMC IT are conducting a telephone services audit to determine inventory and requirements of the new service. You already may have met with our audit team as they conduct their initial walkthrough. This data gathering initiative should be completed within the next few weeks. As the project progresses, will we provide additional information and updates.
